Being prepared

"And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out”
"But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves”

Earthquakes

Yesterday we had a 5.4 Earthquake good thing it didn't last long so everything and everyone was fine I have had a feeling for a long time that i need to be on the ball about food storage and and emergency perparedness and I've been putting it off so yesterday really got me thinking i felt like heavenly father was warning us that we need to be ready we all know that the prophets have been strong on us being perpared and ready and how many of us are really listing to them and doing ALL THAT WE CAN to follow there council whether we live in California where there is earthquakes or the east coast where there is hurricanes and etc..... we need to be following the prophet and be ready for anything to happen well we all know California is suppose to get the "BIG ONE" we just don't know when of course it could be tomorrow or in years but we all need to ready i know I WILL BE i was shocked yesterday at everyone just being cool about this earthquake like it was nothing and just moved on with there day and life like everything will be OK ppssshhhhhh..... thoughs are the type of people who will have nothing because they brushed off the simple warnings to be ready for something bigger to come i have 3 little boys childern of god and heavenly father has givin them to me and trust me that i will take care of them and be resonsable for them and it is my job as a mother to protect them ,teach theam and have our family ready it would not be fair to my childeren to lack on something i know i need to do i love them :) anyways i found a article on a little info what will happen when we get hit by the "BIG ONE"

Disaster Preparedness News
UCSG Unveils Chilling Disaster Earthquake Scenario for Southern California; Experts Urge Immediate Earthquake Preparedness Measures
With chilling descriptions and conclusions, the USGS finally released its Disaster Earthquake Scenario for Southern California. The report in its complete form is a 312 page breakdown by the world's leading geologic, economic, health, and safety experts on exactly what damage a 7.8 earthquake would do to Southern California. For comparison sake, this would be about equal to the devastating earthquake that hit China's Sichuan province last Monday. Although California building codes and emergency response resources may be greater than China, but a quick read over the bullet points of the Disaster Earthquake Scenario and you will quickly realize that there is no time to waste in making absolutely sure that you take the earthquake preparedness measures necessary for you are your loved ones.
The report describes exactly what earthquake damage Southern Californians could expect from the "Big One" occurring on the region's notorious San Andreas fault; and the news is not good. According to the report, 10 million people will be exposed to intense shaking and at minimum it "would kill 1,800 people, injure 50,000, cause $200 billion in damage, and have long-lasting social and economic consequences." Shaking would last around 55 seconds; that's 8 times longer than in the area's 1994 Northridge earthquake. The report goes on to detail how a vast majority of buildings will suffer structural damage along with major freeway overpasses. Hospitals will be running at 25% capacity and overrun by critically injured victims. Utilities will be unavailable with some areas having no drinkable water for up to 6 months.
Okay, so the report is grim. But, the good news is the a lot of the potential devastation is preventable by taking the necessary earthquake preparedness measures. For starters, make sure you have earthquake kits and all the recommended earthquake supplies you will need to survive on your own after evacuating your building. At a bare minimum, you need a 3 day supply of emergency food and water but we recommend at la 2 week supply. As electricity will be unavailable for a long time, you'll need emergency lights like flashlights...but don't rely on ones that use batteries. We offer a wide selection of emergency lights that use alternative power sources so that they'll always be ready and last when you need them most.

Starting Over !

Well i had made a blog spot for the Dedman Family and couldn't get it set up and figured out...so i forgot my password and ect...so I'm determined to start over and get it right this time. Well right now the boys are taking a summer break from all activities and schooling. Actually it's me taking a break because once fall gets here I'm gonna have a super busy schedule with Jeremiah and JoJo in school and activities. Ruben is doing school full-time right now and is loving it. He's doing well and next fall should be when he transfers to a university and who knows where that will bring us next. We currently have had Ruben's cousin, Portia Dedman, from Florida living with us for the past 4-5 months and she found a new place so she should be moving out soon. That is all that is going on with us and i will be posting often!
